Local: Residential has promoted Nicholas Walterwood as Senior General Manager – Kensington and South Melbourne. Since joining the business in January 2025, Nicholas has had the opportunity to lead one scheme and team as General Manager.
As Local: Residential prepares for the launch of its South Melbourne development, he will now be overseeing two developments and two teams during an exciting period of growth for the business.

In January 2026, Local: Residential was appointed as Development Victoria’s partner to deliver the third and final parcel of the Fitzroy Gasworks precinct, which comprises Build to Rent homes. Approximately 360 apartments, including over 100 affordable dwellings, represent 33% of the parcel.
Working alongside the Inner North Collective joint venture, which is delivering Parcels B and C, Local has stated that it is looking forward to creating a ‘connected and cohesive’ neighbourhood across the precinct.
