DevelopmentWA nears completion at first mixed-tenure Build to Rent scheme

Construction of the scheme at 195 Pier Street is expected to be completed in mid-November.

DevelopmentWA is progressing towards completion at its 195 Pier Street Build to Rent development in Perth. The scheme comprises 66 social homes, 44 affordable homes and 109 market rental apartments, including ten Specialist Disability Accommodation homes.

The 29-storey structure and exterior façade are nearing completion. Apartment fitouts continue throughout the building, with painting, flooring, kitchens and services complete up to Level 21.

Work has commenced on the resident podium, which is shown at the base of the tower. This will become the social heart of the development. The shared space will include a communal dining area, BBQ facilities, wellness room and library for the exclusive use of residents.

195 Pier Street is within walking distance of Yagan Square, Northbridge, the WA Museum Boola Bardip and the ECU City campus, alongside the Perth and McIver train stations for easy connectivity.

Following completion of the building, final testing, approvals and preparations will take place before residents begin moving in.

The development received $1.86m through the WA Government’s Infrastructure Development Fund, with the funding agreement originally supporting an apartment yield that was subsequently increased to 219 homes.
