Australian Build to Rent provider – HOME – has opened the doors to its third development – HOME Docklands.
Located directly adjacent to Marvel Stadium at 685 La Trobe Street, HOME Docklands includes 676 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments split across two towers of 30 and 31-storeys.
The scheme is expected to house approximately 1,300 residents.

Offering leases ranging from six months to six years, HOME Docklands provides flexibility and security for its residents.
The varied lease terms give tenants the stability of a guaranteed home for their chosen period, while also accommodating different lifestyle needs.
Apartments can come furnished, unfurnished and with appliances.

Designed in collaboration with award-winning architectural firm Cox Architecture, amenities at HOME Docklands includes a 25-meter pool, infrared sauna, communal spaces, a gym, spin and Pilates studio, and a dedicated resident services team.
“From the outset, our goal with HOME Docklands was to design a landmark that not only offers exceptional residential spaces but also contributes to the vitality of the precinct.
“The two towers are carefully articulated to break up the building mass, creating a ‘building of buildings’ that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding streetscape.
“By incorporating diverse façade materials and active street frontages, we’ve aimed to invigorate this part of La Trobe Street, transforming it into a vibrant destination for residents and the broader community.”
Peter Panetta, Design Director, HOME

The Resident Services team provides an on-site concierge seven days a week, on-call for an extensive menu of services with everyday essentials including on-site maintenance support, parcel and mail collection to dry cleaning, pet grooming and furniture assembly.
“HOME Docklands is more than just a place to live; it’s a vibrant community where residents can thrive.
“With an interactive program of events, diverse amenities, state-of-the-art co-working spaces, pet-friendly spaces and add-ons like apartment cleaning and handyman services, we’ve designed HOME Docklands to be high on style, as well as providing convenience and a strong sense of security for today’s renters.
“We’re constantly striving for continuous improvement, and each new development is an opportunity to refine our offering. HOME Southbank and HOME Richmond have achieved an outstanding 95% resident satisfaction rate, according to our latest survey, and we look forward to achieving the same great results at HOME Docklands.”
Christian Grahame, Head, HOME

Adding to the community atmosphere that HOME aims to nurture at HOME Docklands, the Build to Rent scheme will also provide food and beverage offerings.
This includes Doglands – a pub, restaurant and brewery from Moon Dog opening this month (October 2024), alongside HOME’s very own cafe, Milkbar.

With Marvel Stadium situated just across the road, residents also have unparalleled access to one of Melbourne’s best sporting, entertainment and event scenes.
“Melbourne continues to lead the nation on Build to Rent homes which provide secure and flexible housing options for renters.
“Docklands plays a key role in delivering much-needed housing in the centre of Australia’s fastest-growing major city and HOME Docklands is a great example of how ongoing partnerships between all levels of government and the private sector can successfully contribute to the delivery of housing.”
Colin Brooks, Minister for Development Victoria

Docklands has rapidly become a hub for Melbourne’s professional workforce, with a significant 42.2% of its residents employed in professional roles — substantially higher than both the state and national averages.
This concentration of skilled professionals’ underscores Docklands’ appeal as a prime location for high-quality residential developments like HOME Docklands, catering to those who seek both convenience and a dynamic urban lifestyle.
