Aqualand Founder recognised as leading real estate personality

The Founder of Aqualand has been named 2023 Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year after the developer’s string of success.

The sixth edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) has announced that it has named Shangjin Lin, Founder and Group Managing Director of developer Aqualand as the 2023 Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year.

This prestigious award recognises Jin’s outstanding contributions to the real estate industry – as well as his commitment to delivering luxury residences and lifestyle communities.

“I am truly humbled and honoured to be named the PropertyGuru Asia Property Award’s 2023 Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year. This award recognises our commitment to delivering lifestyle communities of the highest quality and our dedication to enhancing the local community. It also acknowledges the collective effort of each and every Aqualand staff member who has helped achieve our great success over the past nine years.”

Growing up in North Sydney and graduating from Macquarie University, in 2014, Jin founded Aqualand with just one employee, working from his home. In under ten years, he transformed Aqualand into a property, hospitality, and investment group with a real estate portfolio valued at over AUD9.5bn (USD60.6bn). The company currently has over 300 employees.

Aqualand has also entered the Build to Rent sector with its first scheme in Sydney, which is planned to be built on the site of the developer’s existing commercial building at 146 Arthur Street.
