Build to Rent developer and operator Greystar has celebrated the topping out of its South Melbourne development The Gladstone this week. The development will open to residents in September this year.
Located in Melbourne’s Fishermans Bend precinct, the $500m scheme includes three towers delivering 700 new residential apartments for 1,500 residents, from studios to family-size apartments. It offers 4,600 sqm of amenity space and 775 sqm of dedicated retail space.

Designed by Scott Carver architects, interior design partner Hecker Guthrie, and landscape architecture partner Arcadia, residential amenities at The Gladstone include co-working spaces, exercise classes, events and experiences, bookable private dining rooms, and concierge and on-site management and maintenance. The scheme is also pet-friendly and provides a variety of flexible leasing options.
“The Gladstone will be a wonderful contribution to the local community and provides a rare opportunity to live at the heart of one of Melbourne’s most historic and revitalised areas.”
Adam Pillay, Executive Director – APAC, Greystar

Fishermans Bend is Australia’s largest urban renewal precinct and is set to be home to approximately 80,000 residents and 80,000 employment opportunities by 2050.
“We need more homes where people want to live – Greystar’s development does just that – offering rental homes close to transport, schools, parks and of course the iconic Yarra River.”
Sonya Kilkenny, Minister for Planning, Victoria
