Coronation Property wins award for Mason & Main BTR

Coronation Property wins 2024 AIB NSW Professional Excellence Award for Mason & Main Stage One Build to Rent scheme.

Developer and builder Coronation Property has won the prestigious Australian Institute of Building NSW Professional Excellence Award for its $250m Mason & Main Stage One Build to Rent development in Merrylands.

The award – in the Residential Construction category – recognises excellence across the entire property development process. It was judged on a range of criteria including the degree of project difficulty, internal and external relationship management, quality and excellence in architecture, design, planning, construction and sustainability.

The Managing Director of Coronation said that as a fully integrated business, Coronation is well positioned to deliver excellence across each stage of the property life cycle.

“We are thrilled to win the AIB NSW Professional Excellence Award for Residential Construction over $60m. Coronation is committed to shaping the future of the communities in which we operate, ensuring quality delivery and strong placemaking outcomes.

“Coronation would like to thank Woods Bagot and all of our other collaborators who came together to successfully deliver Mason & Main Stage One, for the benefit of our residents and the wider western Sydney community.”

Joe Nahas, Managing Director, Coronation Property

Completed early 2024, Mason & Main Stage One is a vibrant mixed-use destination in Merrylands. The scheme includes 434 Build to Rent apartments across three beautifully appointed buildings, including retail and an activated ‘Eat Street’ where residents and the wider community can gather.

Coronation Property worked closely with architects Woods Bagot throughout the Mason & Main project’s design conception and delivery, to ensure an integrated approach in bringing the vision to life.

Woods Bagot’s design considered the local market and materiality of the construction. This drew inspiration from the nearby brickworks and aqueduct – applying a contemporary lens to the area’s rich heritage. This resulted in a premium new residential and lifestyle offering, not previously seen in the area.

Coronation Property’s collaboration on the Mason & Main scheme with the Cumberland City Council, the NSW Government and the broader community resulted in a development that has transformed the area into a dynamic and exciting lifestyle destination.
