Local: Box Hill BTR and SKY SQR top out

Local: Residential has reached a significant milestone, with the topping out of its residential towers – Local: Box Hill – at SKY SQR.

Developer Local: Residential and Golden Age Group have reached the topping out milestone at the Local: Box Hill scheme in Melbourne. It forms part of the wider SKY SQR development, where construction company Icon has also topped out.

Spanning 72,000 sqm, the SKY SQR urban hub is part of a landmark mixed-use scheme set to redefine the area.

The Local: Box Hill development features two 17-floor residential towers that comprise 425 Build to Rent apartments owned and operated by Local: Residential, which acquired the scheme from Golden Age Group in 2023.

The over 1,500 sqm of amenities include a 25-metre indoor pool, private dining rooms, an 80-seat co-working space, and pet-friendly features like a pet wash station.

Additionally, the development incorporates electric car share facilities and outdoor green spaces, reinforcing its sustainable credentials.

“Local: Box Hill represents what we believe renters deserve – to rent without fear. Local: Box Hill will offer certainty, quality, and a place that renters can proudly call home for as long as they choose.”

Positioned above a three-level retail podium designed by The Oval Partnership Ltd, SKY SQR will introduce a dynamic dining and entertainment precinct to Box Hill, further enhancing the area’s appeal. Underground parking facilities add to the development’s convenience for both residents and visitors.

Icon’s involvement in the construction of SKY SQR reflects its role in achieving another milestone.

Icon’s team joined Golden Age Group and Local: Residential to mark this progress, with practical completion anticipated by the end of the year. The project’s architectural design is led by FK, with finance support from NAB and Macquarie Asset Management.

As the SKY SQR scheme moves closer to completion, it is set to offer both a vibrant lifestyle and rental security for future residents.
