APPL Group, Cameron Chisholm Nicol and PACT Construction have reached a new construction update at the Sydney Charles Quarter mixed-use Build to Rent precinct on Newcastle Street in Western Australia.
Five buildings are rising concurrently around a central landscaped space. The scheme is set to transform a former car yard in the City of Vincent into a live, work, play and stay destination.
One of the new buildings currently under construction will comprise 32 one-, two- and three-bedroom Build to Rent apartments. The building will also provide over 3,000 sqm of retail and office space across three levels, contributing to a strong street presence and helping to activate the public realm.
This Build to Rent building is located between the office building and the co-living and supermarket building fronting Newcastle Street.
Once complete, Sydney Charles Quarter will span two hectares and introduce a new benchmark for urban renewal in Perth. Amenities include The Commons recreational areas, wellness and fitness facilities, function, conference and business meeting spaces, and on-site fresh food and retail offerings.
Hospitality will be anchored by the Pickle Shed food and beverage outlets, while accommodation will be provided through a world-class Aiden hotel with rooftop facilities.
Sydney Charles Quarter is designed to bring new energy and opportunity to a site with a rich local history, previously home to City Motors. Its mix of residential, commercial, retail and lifestyle uses will create a modern and thriving community on the edge of Perth’s CBD.
