Developer PDG has commenced initial works at its Roden & King Build to Rent development in West Melbourne, with construction works starting soon.
The scheme will comprise 291 Build to Rent apartments, alongside mixed-use commercial spaces organised around a central landscaped green – creating a new neighbourhood focal point within the evolving precinct.
Designed in collaboration with DKO Architecture, the scheme prioritises shared outdoor space, active ground-floor uses and a residential environment that supports connection, walkability and everyday convenience.
“As Melbourne grows, projects like Roden & King show how density can be paired with thoughtful design to create places people genuinely want to live.”
Statement, PDG
The development includes over 2,100 sqm of indoor and outdoor amenities, including co-working spaces, a gym and rooftop dining. Roden & King will provide exceptional sustainable transport with generous bike storage, end-of-trip facilities, EV chargers, and an in-house carshare facility for residents.
Situated at 577 King Street, Roden & King is within a ten-minute walk to North Melbourne, the Flagstaff railway stations and the future Arden Metro station. The site was formerly an Audi dealership and service centre, with planning permission for the Build to Rent transformation granted to PDG and automotive group Zagame in 2024.
