Oxford Properties Group and developer and investment manager Investa has officially opened its Indi Footscray Build to Rent development in Melbourne’s Inner West.
To commemorate the completion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was recently held that brought together Katie Hall MP Member for Footscray, City of Maribyrnong Mayor Mohamed Semra, Investa, Oxford, builder Icon, architect SJB and key project partners.
Coinciding with the launch of the development, the ceremony included an unveiling of Indi Footscray’s 75-metre art mural, featuring the work of six street artists.
Four local artists – First Nations artist Tommy Day, Brolga, Minna Leunig and Lynn Bremner – alongside two international artists, Francesco Camillo Giorgino (Millo) and Seth Globepainter, collaborated in a work that celebrates Footscray’s vibrant arts scene.

Located at 3 McNab Avenue, the scheme will deliver 702 apartments across three buildings, offering residents sweeping views of Melbourne’s skyline, on-site management and resort-style amenity just six kilometres from the CBD.

At the entrance, soaring arches, rich brickwork and lush podium landscaping create a defined gateway that blends heritage character with contemporary living.
The Global Living Company furnished the elevated communal spaces, supplied the furnished apartments and styled the displays, which were complemented by interior decorator Simone Haag, who styled the communal interiors.
Together, the interiors balance ‘lux’ living with everyday functionality to ensure residents feel connected to the space as it evolves and is lived in over time.
Delivered by renowned Australian public art and placemaking studio Juddy Roller, the purposeful integration of the large-scale curated cultural work celebrates Footscray’s strong creative identity that defines one of Melbourne’s most historically layered and culturally rich suburbs.
Demand to live in Footscray has grown strongly over the last four years, with median rents for units increasing by 51% since 2022.

This momentum has been supported by significant Victorian Government investment in the area, including $1.5bn for the new Footscray Hospital, over $120m for the Footscray Learning Precinct and $36.6m to redevelop Whitten Oval.
Major transport connectivity projects including the new Dixon Veloway and Victoria’s Big Build initiatives such as the Metro Tunnel and West Gate Tunnel has supported this momentum, enhancing liveability through improved connectivity and reduced heavy vehicle traffic on local roads.
