Icon Construction has given an update on the 195 Pier Street Build to Rent scheme it is delivering for Development WA, after being chosen to deliver the scheme in September 2025.
This 29-storey project is tracking well toward a targeted May 2027 completion, with more than 200,000 hours of work undertaken to date as the building steadily rises. Once complete, it will be Perth’s first 100% Build to Rent development.
195 Pier Street will also comprise 30% of social housing dwellings, with the balance being affordable housing and market rentals, inclusive of specialist disability accommodation. The project will also create a sustainable and replicable model for future social and affordable housing.
Designed by Hassell, the project places a strong focus on sustainability and livability, incorporating thermal efficiency and natural ventilation, reduced energy and water use, excellent walkability and transport connections, and shared amenities and generous private balconies

Once finished, the development will provide a diverse mix of affordable rental homes, social housing and specialist disability accommodation.
