Hickory has been appointed builder for Development Victoria’s The Avenue Build to Rent scheme in Coburg. Works commenced in April 2026, demolition works began in September 2025 and completion is scheduled for late-2027.
The Avenue sits at 27–31 The Avenue and comprises 275 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across four buildings, delivered as a mix of Build to Rent and Build to Sell homes designed by Hayball and located just 7km from Melbourne’s CBD.
Hickory’s scope includes conventional construction across all four buildings, incorporating in-situ and precast concrete structures, façades comprising brickwork, fibre cement cladding and glazing, and a shared basement car park serving the development.
The scheme also includes a ground-floor café tenancy, contributing to the future activation of the precinct.
