Multi-award-winning Australian developer Coronation Property has announced that its landmark Moore Point ‘River City’ development at Liverpool has reached a major milestone after being formally placed on public exhibition.
The 32-ha former industrial site is set to be transformed into a new master-planned development which will deliver 11,000 homes, creating 23,000 jobs, a new public school for 1,000 students, pedestrian bridge links across the Georges River to the Liverpool CBD, over 10-ha of open space and trees, and 8km of riverfront walking and cycling paths for the community.
Moore Point will deliver 2,500 Build to Rent homes and 400 dedicated affordable housing apartments, 200 of which will be delivered in Stage 1 of the development, and the other 200 delivered in the following stages.
With the provision of affordable housing, Coronation aims to provide new homes for eligible low-to medium income frontline, support health and allied care workers at the adjacent Liverpool Hospital. Homes will be offered to these residents at below-market rents.
To help deliver the plans, Coronation has entered into a strategic partnership with one of Australia’s largest community housing providers – Evolve Housing.
A part of this initiative comes from the major health unions stating that an increasing number of essential workers are unable to find a home close to where they work.

Moore Point has been identified to be ‘clearly aligned’ with the Minns Government’s key objectives of delivering greater density in well-serviced, well-connected urban areas, as the development is in close proximity to Liverpool railway station and bus interchange, Liverpool Hospital and medical facilities, Westfield Shopping Centre, three universities and schools.
Subject to planning approval by Q3 2025, Coronation workers can be on-site by Q4 2025, with the first apartments delivered by Q3/Q4 2027.
Coronation’s stand-alone Build to Rent subsidiary company – Nation – will operate the scheme.

Coronation is now one of Australia’s biggest Build to Rent developers, with a pipeline of $5.7bn of mixed-use projects across Greater Sydney, including Ashbury Terraces and Milton Residences in Ashbury, 8 Phillip Street in Parramatta, Precinct 75 in St Peters, Erskineville, St Leonards, Waterloo and Moore Point in Moorebank. Coronation also has a development in Chatswood set to launch next year.
