Australian developer and builder Coronation Property has officially opened Stage One of its vibrant new Mason & Main master-planned precinct in the heart of Sydney’s West – and is NSW’s largest Build to Rent scheme.
The opening was attended by Cumberland City Councillors, Coronation’s Managing Director Joseph Nahas and staff, Wayside Chapel CEO Pastor Jon Owen, Evolve Housing CEO Lyall Gorman, and property industry leaders.
Designed by global architects Woods Bagot, the Mason & Main Stage One development stands in the revitalised Merrylands CBD and comprises 434 Build to Rent homes in a mix of studios, one-, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
Amenities include a resort-style swimming pool, rooftop gardens, sauna, private dining rooms and workspaces. In addition, the new lifestyle precinct will feature a variety of tenancies including a gym (anchor tenant ‘One Playground’), childcare, health and beauty services, plus an ‘Eat Street’ that will feature all day dining experiences.

The $250m development at 249-259 Merrylands Road sits directly across the road from the Stockland Shopping Centre, 350 metres from Merrylands Train Station and bus interchange, and 5km from the Parramatta CBD. This location fully supports the Minns Government’s plans for a greater supply of quality, affordable housing in connected, well-serviced urban areas.
Nation, Coronation’s subsidiary company will operate the Build to Rent apartments and is actively working to help renters by expanding the supply, quality, and diversity of longer-term options for Sydney renters.
As part of its ‘Coronation Cares’ community program, Managing Director Joseph Nahas announced that one-floor of the Mason & Main Precinct would be set aside for affordable, key worker and transitional accommodation to assist people in need. He also thanked the NSW Government and relevant departments and agencies, Cumberland City Council, Woods Bagot, Coronation’s construction teams, staff and consultants, investors, and other key stakeholders for their collaboration on Mason & Main.
