Developer Coronation Property and its Build to Rent division Nation have partnered with Beyond Blue to embed mental health support across its communities. The companies will be launching the first-of-its-kind rollout of the Before Blue program to Coronation’s residents.
The partnership with Beyond Blue builds on Coronation’s broader Coronation Cares Social Impact strategy, which focuses on housing access, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
“Our role as developers is changing. It’s no longer enough to deliver apartments and walk away. We want to create neighbourhoods that genuinely enrich people’s lives. Partnering with Beyond Blue and offering Before Blue to our Nation residents is one way we’re delivering on that promise.”
Joseph Nahas, Managing Director, Coronation Property
For Nation, it marks the beginning of a new resident experience model that integrates wellbeing into the heart of Build to Rent living. This is the first time Before Blue has been made available through a residential operator – a milestone that sets a new benchmark for the Build to Rent sector in Australia.
The partnership represents a step change in how developers aim to actively support the mental health and wellbeing of residents. Coronation’s Head of Social Impact stated that the initiative reflects Coronation’s belief that property development should improve lives, not just deliver housing.
“We want every Coronation and Nation community to be a place where people feel supported and connected. By partnering with Beyond Blue to deliver the Before Blue program, we’re embedding mental health support directly into the resident experience.
“It’s about recognising that housing is more than shelter – it’s the foundation of a life well lived.”
Kirsten Steedman, Head of Social Impact, Coronation
Under the partnership, all Nation residents will have access to Before Blue, Beyond Blue’s preventative mental health program. The program combines mental health coaching with practical tools to support people and improve their mental health.
“We are delighted to partner with Coronation in our mission to help all people in Australia achieve their best possible mental health. As a property developer, Coronation plays a role in shaping communities which in turn influences our mental health and wellbeing.
“As a company, we know they’re committed to supporting the mental wellbeing of both residents and their own teams and people. Together, we can help foster open conversations around mental health, reduce stigma, and ensure more people can access the support they need, when they need it.”
Marcia Harkins, General Manager Early Intervention at Work, Beyond Blue
Residents can connect directly with a Before Blue coach to explore strategies tailored to their needs, supporting them to feel more confident, capable, and mentally prepared for life’s challenges. It is free confidential.
