Developer and operator apt.Residential has secured a pre-commitment lease over 2,500 sqm to Coles, as part of its $280m Build to Rent and retail development on the Meadowbank peninsula.
Meadowbank Corner is part of the apt.Meadowbank precinct, which comprises 291 Build to Rent apartments. The 2,500 sqm Coles Local will be complemented by 15 specialty retail stores offering a variety of takeaway and dining experiences, alongside a range of essential health and beauty retailers.
Located at 1-20 Railway Road opposite Meadowbank train station in a prime commuter location, Meadowbank Corner provides prominent street frontage to both Railway and Constitution Road.
“As a convenience-based neighbourhood centre, Meadowbank Corner addresses a clear gap in the local market for a primary, full product line supermarket, and a modern retail centre designed to service the everyday needs of the community.
“We are delighted to have Coles Local anchoring Meadowbank Corner and pleased that the location and format was a fit for their high quality, tailored offering, which we know will deliver enormous value and convenience to apt.Meadowbank residents and the local community.”
George Confos, Executive Director, apt.Residential
When selecting the site, Coles was attracted by the large, diverse, local population, low supermarket provision in the area, good exposure and convenient basement parking.
Coles Local Meadowbank will offer a range of locally sourced products, with a unique, instore artist mural to be commissioned to capture the essence of the area.
apt.Residential’s community-oriented approach and end-to-end service model aligns with the Coles Local ethos of servicing and adding value to the communities in which they operate.
