Developed for Cedar Pacific by Hutchinson Builders, a new 32-storey Build to Rent development at 50 Quay Street is taking shape on the edge of Brisbane’s city centre, marking a significant step forward for the riverside precinct.
The scheme will comprise 475 new apartments: 125 two-bedroom apartments, 75 studios, 75 one-bedroom apartments, 175 one-bedroom plus multi-purpose room apartments, and 25 three-bedroom apartments.
The apartments will occupy levels five to 29, designed with functionality and comfort in mind. At the top of the tower, level 31 will offer a landscaped rooftop recreation area, including a pool and green spaces with panoramic city views.
The lower levels of the building, from the ground floor to level four, will feature resident amenities, a café, and 257 car parking spaces. A key design feature includes a new cross-block link that connects Quay Street and Coronation Drive through a public elevator and stairway, enhancing pedestrian movement and accessibility through the site.
Reflecting Cedar Pacific’s focus on sustainable and liveable housing, the scheme is targeting a 5 Star Green Star Buildings v1 rating and a minimum 5 Star NatHERS rating. It also meets Liveable Housing Australia (LHA) standards, with 58% of homes designed to Gold level and the remaining 42% to Silver level, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for residents.
Positioned between Coronation Drive and Quay Street, the Quay Street development aims to contribute to the ongoing transformation of Brisbane’s skyline. It will also be a major addition to Brisbane’s Build to Rent sector when complete, delivering new homes, enhanced public connections, and a strong focus on sustainability to one of the city’s key growth areas.
