Australian development arm of City Developments Limited – CDL Australia – has topped out at its Normanby Road Build to Rent development at Fishermans Bend, Southbank, ahead of schedule.
To mark the occasion, a ceremony was held onsite with CDL’s project collaborators who helped bring the vision for the scheme to life. CDL Australia commenced works on-site last year.

Normanby Road will comprise 237 new apartments in a mix of configurations. Amenities include a fully equipped gym, extensive wellness area with saunas and cold plunge, podcast rooms and co-working spaces, a cinema, sky lounge, private dining room and barbecue areas.
Internally, the residential fit-out is also progressing steadily, with significant portions of the work already completed and the remainder well underway. Additionally, the process of identifying and addressing any defects has also officially begun.
“Reaching the topping out stage at our Normanby Road project marks a major milestone for our team and a significant step forward for the Build to Rent sector in Melbourne.
“This project reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality, professionally managed rentals in well-connected urban locations, and we’re proud to see it taking shape.”
Cameron Laird, Head of Australia, CDL Australia

Builder Crema and Hayball architects collaborated to deliver a design that fuses modern and classical expression with elegant proportions.
Located in the Fishermans Bend precinct at Montague, Normanby Road sits just 2kms away from the Melbourne CBD. A convenient tram line divides the north and south.
