Developer Assemble recently held a housewarming event with its newly welcomed residents at the 15 Thompson Street development in Kensington.
To begin the evening, Assemble and residents gathered in the internal park at the scheme for a Smoking Ceremony led by Wurundjeri man Colin Hunter Jnr.
After speaking to significance and history of the Wurundjeri lands on where the development is located, Colin invited everyone to walk through and cleanse themselves with the smoke of Wurun leaves to promote protection and wellbeing upon the site.
Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued on the shared rooftop, where Managing Director Kris Daff and Head of Operations Nicola Fawl spoke about the efforts to ready the building for residential move-in and seeing the community evolve over the past few weeks.

Residents at 15 Thompson Street met for the first time over pizzas made in the rooftop wood-fired oven and nibbles from the cafe Cassette.
Assemble and residents also enjoyed local refreshments from Nubilum Distillery and Bonehead Brewing, who are neighbours to the scheme. They hand-delivered supplies for the event from just down the road.
