Melbourne’s first premium Build to Rent scheme – Home Southbank – opens in Australia. The development includes 403 new homes – a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across 59 levels. The community offers residents hotel-inspired services and a range of amenities and community features, such as private dining experiences, co-working facilities, Tesla carshare, apartment cleaning, fitness classes, personal training and pet care services.

Home aims to offer an alternative to home ownership and traditional renting, and to set a new standard for renting where residents come first. Alongside the freedom to personalise space and have pets, Home’s Build to Rent model intends to offer residents more flexibility and choice, and greater security of tenure than a normal lease.
Level 59 of Home Southbank offers views of the city from a private dining room, residents’ club and co-working spaces. On the ground level, Home’s Resident Services team are on-call for everyday essential services and add-ons, including on-site maintenance support, parcel and mail collection, dry cleaning, pet grooming and furniture assembly. The Resident’s Services team can also be contacted through the Home’s Resident Services App. The ground floor also offers access to a café and wine bar by Melbourne institution, Au79, which will provide dine-in and takeaway options for residents and the local neighbourhood.

Home’s industrial-style Bates Smart designed apartments were inspired by Manhattan’s High Line and Meat Packing districts. They are sustainably designed with the intention of making greener living easier for residents. Home aims to target net-zero emissions and maintain a five-star Green Star Rating across its entire portfolio.
Home Southbank is the first apartment complex to open in the brand’s portfolio, with Home Richmond to follow in mid-July this year. Over the coming years, Home developments are expected to open in neighbourhoods across Melbourne and Sydney, including Docklands in Victoria and Parramatta, St Peters at Precinct 75, and St Leonards in New South Wales.

Home Southbank apartments are available and leasing now, with weekly rental prices starting from $595 pw for unfurnished apartments. Six months to multiyear furnished apartments are also available.
