Construction is underway at the Local Kensington Build to Rent scheme, with significant stage one milestones achieved.

Construction is underway at the Local Kensington Build to Rent scheme. Significant milestones have been achieved in stage one and works have begun for stage two.

Local Kensington – located at 350 Macaulay Road – has seen a hive of activity. In stage one, waterproofing works are complete, and basement slabs are in the final stages of being poured. Basement walls are built, and Local Residential will soon begin the upward construction on three of the six buildings.

Stage two includes the basement excavation works which are in full swing and will reach a final depth of 2.6 metres. With three tower cranes in full swing on the site, Local Residential have collectively spent 30,000 hours onsite, with an average of 60 workers every day.

Local Kensington, the company’s flagship project will deliver 477 Build to Rent apartments – which includes 42 Impact Housing apartments – across six buildings.

Amenities include a gym and yoga studio, an outdoor heated pool, a large screen room, residents lounge, private dining room, co-working, an artist creative studio, green spaces including dog friendly outdoor space, both a pet and car wash bay, and a ground floor café and shops.

The Build to Rent development will be built with sustainability and social consciousness at its core. Local Kensington will be fully electric and net zero carbon in operations. The scheme is expected to complete in mid-2024.
