Assemble has announced the completion of their new Build-to-Rent-To-Own (BTRTO) scheme. Financed by Australian superannuation fund, AustralianSuper, the site marks the first completion of a BTRTO project.
Assemble welcomed Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, Minister for Development Victoria Colin Brooks, AustralianSuper CEO Paul Schroder, and Northern Metropolitan Region Member Sheena Watt MP to tour the newly completed scheme.
Located at 15 Thompson Street, Kensington in Melbourne, the project offers resident safety, security and certainty as part of their innovative purchase pathway.
Overall, this offering supports people to achieve their goal of owning their own home. Assemble set the purchase and rental pricing for the first five years allowing residents the time and structure to save.

With 199 homes, there is the right sized place for everyone to call home. Studios rent from A$427 to three bedroom/two bathrooms starting at A$960 per week.
The development also offers a host of amenities including a rooftop vegetable and herb garden chicken coup, futsal/basketball court, wood-fire pizza oven, outdoor kitchen and dog run. The scheme also offers a bookable guesthouse for resident’s guests.
The 15 Thompson Street project team also included ANZ, architects Hayball, landscape architects OCULUS, and construction partner Hacer Group.

AustralianSuper has made nearly $500m equity commitment to Assemble BTRTO projects, with the expectation to deliver over 1,400 homes by 2027.
A second BRTO development in Melbourne’s Brunswick is already underway. Projects in Coburg, Brunswick and Footscray are also in the pipeline.
