Developer Lendlease has been selected as the Queensland Government’s preferred Master Development Partner to transform the former Visy site in South Brisbane into a major mixed-use riverfront precinct.
Located between South Bank and West End, just 1.3 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, the scheme will bring together over 4,000 new and diverse homes and extensive public open space along the waterfront.

Spanning over seven hectares, the precinct will include new riverfront promenades and boardwalks, plazas and amphitheatre-style spaces, parkland and shared pedestrian and cycling routes to create a highly connected riverside neighbourhood.
“The transformation of the former Visy site represents a rare opportunity to reimagine one of Brisbane’s most significant riverfront locations, deliver thousands of much needed homes, and create long term legacy.
“In partnership with the Queensland Government, we have the opportunity to create a new riverside destination that will help shape Brisbane’s growth and how people experience the city for decades to come.
“This is exactly the type of large-scale, city-shaping development that will provide lasting benefits for Queensland, bringing together housing, jobs and world-class public spaces.”
Claire Johnston, CEO Development, Lendlease
With the first homes and key public spaces targeted for delivery ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the precinct will provide early community benefit and establish a vibrant destination from day one.
As one of Brisbane’s last remaining industrial riverfront sites, the development represents a significant urban renewal opportunity and is expected to support over 3,000 jobs across planning, construction and ongoing operations.

Lendlease has operated in Queensland for over 70 years and has a track record of partnering with Governments to deliver city shaping urban regeneration projects that create enduring economic, social and environmental outcomes.
