Kishor’s legacy: elevating Build to Rent through hospitality expertise

Kishor Tahiliani shares his journey from hospitality to Build to Rent, and what it takes to create a new era for the sector.

My journey from the hospitality sector to the Build to Rent industry is a remarkable tale of adaptability and growth.

By Kishor Tahiliani, General Manager, Urbanbubble

With over two decades of experience at renowned hotel brands like Accor and IHG, I have developed a deep understanding of customer service, operational excellence and team dynamics.

My transition into Build to Rent was not merely a career shift, but a strategic move to leverage my hospitality skills in a new context. I have recognised the potential to enhance residential living by applying principles of service and care that are often taken for granted in traditional housing models.

By focusing on creating welcoming environments, I have succeeded in creating new standards for what residents can expect from their living experiences.

Where it all began

My journey began in the hotel industry, where I have honed the skills of customer service and community engagement. This foundation has allowed me to approach the Build to Rent sector with a fresh perspective, focusing on creating welcoming environments that prioritise resident satisfaction.

I believe that the key to success in this industry lies in understanding the needs of residents and providing them with an exceptional service, much like a hotel guest would expect.

I ‘ve used an innovative approach to implement various programs aimed at enhancing the resident experience. I have a commitment to foster a sense of community, ensuring that residents feel not just like tenants, but valued members of a thriving community.

The transition from hotels to homes

Transitioning from hotels to homes, I have embraced the challenge of transforming living spaces into thriving communities. I understand that a home is more than just a physical space, it’s about fostering connections among residents.

By implementing hospitality-driven initiatives, I have successfully turned rental properties into vibrant communities where residents feel a sense of belonging and support. I’m currently working as General Manager with Urbanbubble, overseeing the successful management of two prominent developments – The Goods Yard and The Whitmore Collection.

My vision extends beyond just providing a place to live. I not only want to enhance the living experience but also build lasting friendships, reinforcing the idea that community living can be both enjoyable and fulfilling.

My commitment is to elevate the Build to Rent experience. With my expertise in hospitality, I have used those skills to enhance resident engagement and satisfaction and ensure every resident feels valued and appreciated.

I believe that every interaction with residents is an opportunity to create positive experiences. By fostering a culture of kindness and support, I have built lasting relationships with residents, making them feel at home from the moment they arrive.

I welcome feedback that allows residents to voice their concerns and suggestions, ensuring that their needs are met proactively. This level of engagement has resulted in high resident retention rates and a strong sense of community, showcasing the effectiveness of integrating hospitality principles into residential living.

By merging hospitality with community engagement, we can create a new era in the Build to Rent sector, where kindness and connection are at the forefront.
