Developer CDL Australia has announced that works at its first Build to Rent development in Melbourne is ‘advancing quickly’ after breaking ground at the start of the year.
Located on Normanby Road in the popular Fishermans Bend precinct, the scheme will comprise 237-homes with half consisting of one-bedroom apartments, a quarter will offer two-bedroom apartments, and the final 25% will provide studio apartments.
Amenities will include a gym with spa and yoga studio, collaborative working spaces, sports lounge and TV/cinema room, a barbeque area, dining room, sky lounge and deck on the top level.
CDL Australia’s building partner Crema Constructions is progressing quickly, with the Level 4 and 5 slabs now under way and Core poured to Level 11.
Crema also uses its high-profile construction sites to provide a showcase for Australian artists, to demonstrate their talents while supporting a charity of their choice.
For this scheme, the artist chosen was Pietro Giordano with his work entitled ‘Harvest’, which speaks to the connection between people and the natural environment.
“I have always been very inspired by my surroundings and the continuous visual stimulation that it provides, from the earthy, raw landscapes of my birthplace Sicily to the vast and natural Australian environment and diversity of its people.
“My paintings are depicting the strong connection between the human entity, the diversity of the natural and urban landscapes and the effects of time.
“This fusion creates ever evolving and varied experiences that become part of a continuous journey. Harvest is the giving of nature to the human entity.”
