The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has unveiled the Green Star Champions of 2025 – a group of industry players recognised for their exceptional commitment to creating a more sustainable built environment.
Now in its fifth year, the Green Star Champion award celebrates professionals across the sector, including engineers, designers, planners, architects, professionals, consultants, and leading advocates, who have made a lasting contribution to resilient, healthy and more energy efficient places through Green Star.
The CEO of GBCA stated that the 2025 Green Star Champions exemplify what’s possible when passion and purpose intersect.
“Their work is not only shaping the built environment, but reshaping mindsets across the industry. We’re proud to recognise these individuals who continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks for sustainability in the industry.
“All the champions have shown a dedication to the creation of healthy and efficient places that respond to the challenge that is climate change.”

On receiving the award, Director – Partnerships and Innovation at Slattery – Sarah Slattery – said that it highlighted the extent of the responsibility the industry has.
“It’s an honour to be recognised as a 2025 Green Star Champion, and a reminder of the responsibility we all share in shaping a more sustainable future.
“I’m a firm believer that complacency has no place in our industry. I’m proud to be part of a movement driving meaningful change across the built environment.”

Sarah has worked alongside the team at Slattery to launch Australia’s first carbon planning service and operate as a carbon neutral business; initiatives that have had real impact.
For winner Su-Fern Tan at CBRE Pacific, her passion for sustainability in the industry comes from the ability to drive change at scale.

Evan Smith at Holcim stated that the award was an ‘honour’.
